Day 11 (10 riding) ended at Barrow on Soar near Loughborough.
A tough day’s ride in the hot sun with high 20°’s. Spent most of the with a one day rider on his penny farthing (Dean Williams) whilst the other guys raced off to a small service prior to the main one we conducted at the Afghan War (2001-2014) in the National Memorial Arboretum (a place well worth spending a day at, very moving).
Also a further service at a little village church near the Arboretum for one of the six RMP’s who were butchered by a mob in Iraq. He was only 30 and one of the others we went to a few days ago was only 23, sad losses.
