I served in the British Army for just over 27 years; 10 years in the Royal Green Jackets and 17 Years in the Royal Army Physical Training Corps.
Whilst in the RAPTC, I specialised in Exercise Rehabilitation and worked in various Rehabilitation and Recovery Centres around the UK and Germany, more notably the Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre at Headley Court and the Help for Heroes Recovery Centre, Tedworth House. I also did a tour of Afghanistan in 2010 helping to deliver final stage training and acclimatisation training to front line troops.
In Jan 2015 I joined the Help for Heroes Team as the Area Fundraising Manager for Central England and work from home in Hinckley, Leicestershire.
I’ve been married to Suzanne since 1990 and have 3 grown up girls and a grandson (Yes, I’m a Pops). My greatest achievement is being crowned the 1978 conker champion at my school and still own the winning conker along with completing Ironman UK in 2012 with a team from the charity.
My hobbies outside of the charity involve riding my unicycles (I have 3) and am riding on the Hero JOGLE Relay along with a few other events this year and the BBBR in 2022 on my Penny Farthing. I also love geocaching with my dogs (treasure hunting) and am a local Scout Leader.
